RÉSUMÉ
In middle school, I was the only Korean student in my class. When you’re marked by your race youbecome hyper-visible, yet invisible. The effects of how Asian people are depicted in Western media made me observant of myself and my environment. I came to the realization that I am a new person every day. Identity is fluid– it isn’t defined solely by culture, family, or the past. What really grounds me as a person is my willingness to adapt and challenge outside perceptions of myself and othersaround me.
As a graphic designer I am able to ask questions, challenge preconceived notions, and offer newperspectives.
